Project 1:

Starting off the new year by trying to reboot your old projects you've long forgotten is like picking a video game back up after months and forgetting all of the controls. Which reminds me I still need to finish Far Cry 3. Hopefully I still remember how to shoot shit and blow up the jungle.

So what am I working on, Dave?

I've got a few novels that I've started and just set aside that I would like to finish. Are they good? I don't know-- have you written a novel? Is it good?

I've also got a few graphic novels/comic book series that I would like to reboot that I know for a FACT have a cult following. Have I put them online? No. I don't have the money to do that shit right now so you'll just have to wait until I can sneak into a college to use the copier machines.

So which one do I start with? eh. I'll pick a book and start writing and see how far I get. My goal is to finish ONE THING before the year's out, so I guess I'll just throw all the darts at the board at once and see if any stick.

That's a terrible idea.

2014 has started off with a bang for yours truly, what with the new job prospects that may net me with the chance to again live on our own, and my daughter's turning one in about 3 months. Then I read this article about the truths that I don't want to hear.

God dammit, Dave. I was comfortable in my mediocrity! Like when my alarm rips me out of my nightmarish dreams of being naked at a porcupine sanctuary and all I can think is WHY CAN'T I JUST SLEEP FOREVER!?

Just four more years and I'll be ready for my day.

I've got a lot of hobbies. I'm an artist, musician, writer, and all around jack of all trades. Now I know, we hear it a lot, then we see some of these folks creations and discover they found they suck at a plethora of different things, but I'm pretty good at most of the things I like to do. But what do I do with the things I make? Jack fucking shit, as far as I can see. And the big projects that I like to imagine that I'll break the mold with I never even FUCKING FINISH. Look back at my previous blogs. I didn't even finish those.

So what did Dave do? If you didn't click on the link, or follow up enough to know who I'm talking about, his name is David Wong and he had a message for everybody out there. Stop complaining, and just do it. JUST DO IT. No excuses. Maybe I'll finally finish a book, sell a piece of artwork, put something in a gallery, or make something that somebody else can criticize-- but the KEY. Is that I will have done it. Completed it.

So god dammit, Dave. This is the year. And this is... the blog? I don't know. I'll keep you posted.
